Terms of Service

Last updated: October 23, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Ishai Zaffran (Israeli sole proprietor), doing business as ScanMeridian ("ScanMeridian", "we", "us"). They apply when you use our website, request a free snapshot, or buy a product. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you use it for a business, you confirm that you can accept these terms for that business.

The service

ScanMeridian checks websites for accessibility issues using automated tools, including axe-core and Lighthouse. We offer:

  • Free Snapshot ($0): a short automated check of your homepage, sent by email.
  • Automated Report ($249, one time): an automated audit of your key pages against the WCAG 2.1 Level AA rules that automated tools can test, with fix guidance and a PDF.
  • Automated Report + Re-scan ($399, one time): the same report, plus one automated re-scan of the same pages. You must request the re-scan within 90 days of receiving the report. It produces an updated report that shows which automated findings are resolved and which remain.
  • Monitoring ($49 per month or $490 per year): an auto-renewing subscription with an automated re-scan every month and email alerts when new issues appear.

We may change, add, or remove features. If a change removes something you have paid for, we will tell you and offer a fair remedy.

Orders

You place orders through our checkout, which Paddle operates. You agree to give accurate information, including the website you want us to check and an email address where we can deliver your report. You must be at least 18 years old to buy.

Sites you may ask us to scan

You may only ask us to scan a website that you own or that you are authorized to test. When you submit a site, you confirm that you have that permission, and you allow us to load its public pages with our automated tools. We may decline or stop any scan, for example if we believe the request is not authorized or the scan could harm the site.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Request scans of sites you do not own or have permission to test.
  • Use the service to break any law or to harm, overload, or disrupt any website, including ours.
  • Submit requests in bulk with bots or scripts, or try to get around our spam protections.
  • Copy, resell, or reverse engineer the service.
  • Present a ScanMeridian report as a certification, a legal opinion, or proof that a site complies with any law, or suggest that ScanMeridian endorses your site.

What an automated audit can and cannot do

Automated tools find many common accessibility issues quickly, such as missing image text alternatives, low color contrast, and unlabeled form fields. Our reports identify these issues, explain them, and suggest fixes, which makes your site easier for more customers to use.

Automated tools also have limits:

  • Many WCAG success criteria need human judgment. Examples include whether alt text describes an image well, whether a keyboard user can complete checkout, and whether captions are accurate.
  • Tools can miss issues and can flag issues that are not real problems.
  • The free snapshot covers your public homepage only. A paid report covers the public pages you ask for. We only scan public pages. We never log in, submit forms, or bypass a paywall.
  • A report reflects your site on the day we scanned it. Later changes to your site can add or remove issues.

ScanMeridian reports are automated audits. They are not legal advice and not a certification. They do not guarantee that your site complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 508, any state law, or any other law, and they cannot prevent demand letters or lawsuits. For legal questions about accessibility, talk to a qualified lawyer.

Prices and payments

Paddle is our merchant of record. Paddle sells our products to you, processes your payment, and collects any sales tax or VAT. Paddle's buyer terms also apply to your purchase. The price you pay, including tax, is shown at checkout before you confirm. We may change our prices. A change does not affect orders you have already paid for.

Subscriptions and cancellation

Monitoring is billed monthly or yearly. It renews automatically at the then-current price, plus applicable tax, until you cancel. Paddle charges your payment method at the start of each billing period. If we change the subscription price, we will email you at least 7 and no more than 30 days before the new price applies, with how to cancel.

For yearly plans, we email you 30 to 40 days before each renewal with the renewal date, the price, and how to cancel.

You can cancel at any time through the subscription link in your Paddle receipt email, or by emailing hello@scanmeridian.com. Cancellation stops future charges. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Refunds

In short: you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of buying a report, within 14 days of your first monthly payment, and within 14 days of each yearly charge, including renewals. Our Refund Policy has the details, including what we do after 14 days and how to ask.

Intellectual property

We own the ScanMeridian website, software, report designs, and written guidance. The report you buy is yours to use for your own website. You may copy it and share it with your team, developers, and vendors to fix the issues it lists. axe-core and Lighthouse belong to their owners and are used under their open source licenses.

Disclaimers

We work to make our scans accurate and our site available. Beyond what these terms promise, the service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all other warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. This includes claims, demand letters, settlements, or legal costs related to the accessibility of your website.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you have not paid us. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Your responsibility

You agree to cover our reasonable losses and legal costs if a third party makes a claim against us because you asked us to scan a site you were not authorized to test, or because you broke these terms.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or misuse the service. You can stop using the service at any time. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as the disclaimers and the limitation of liability, survive after these terms end.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict of law rules. The competent courts in Tel Aviv, Israel have exclusive jurisdiction. This does not take away any protection, or any right to bring a claim where you live, that the mandatory law of your home country or state gives you. Disputes about payment, tax or refunds made through Paddle are also covered by Paddle's buyer terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date. If a change is material, we will email customers before it takes effect. The terms in place when you bought a product apply to that purchase.

General

These terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Refund Policy are the full agreement between you and us about the service. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer these terms without our written consent.
